In this research, I conclude that it is feasible to design pop-up books according to the visual narrative theory so that teenagers can correctly understand the knowledge of factitious disorders. To some extent, this is because the way of spreading medical knowledge is the same as that of a pop-up book, and visual narrative is their connecting point.

 

Based on this framework, I designed and explored the morphological structure of the pop-up book using the pop-up book as a form of communication and simplified the abstract knowledge of prevention into words and images that teenagers could understand.

 

In the future, this visual narrative framework may inspire more possibilities for the pop-up book for spreading mental illness and assist designers in creating narrative medical communication.
